ASU Assistant to Participate at NFL Football Academy

INDIANAPOLIS- Newland Isaac, a member of the Albany State University football staff, has been selected for the 2018 NCAA-NFL Coaches Academy to be held February 7-8 in Tampa, Florida.

Isaac, who joined ASU in May of 2017, serves as the Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator for the Golden Rams’ football team. Albany State finished the 2017 season ranked first in the SIAC in scoring at 27.3 points per game and second in the league in total offense with 345.7 yards per outing.

The NCAA and NFL Coaches Academy provides current, full-time college football coaches at NCAA member schools and some former NFL athletes, the opportunity to expand their knowledge and insight into the world of college football coaching.

During the three-day academy, the NCAA leadership development staff and the National Football League Player Engagement are able to educate and train the selected participants in a variety of areas that encourage effective coaching and improve student-athlete well-being at both the college and professional levels.

Isaac holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Charleston Southern (2009) and earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from North Greenville in 2011.
