ATLANTA, Ga. (December 4, 2018) – For the second consecutive year, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner Gregory Moore will participate in the MiLB Diversity Think Tank program which will take place in conjunction with MLB Winter Meetings in Las Vegas, Nevada from December 9-13.
“I’m very honored to once again be invited to participate in this program,” said Gregory Moore, Commissioner of the SIAC. “MiLB President Pat O’Conner deserves a great deal of credit for devoting both time and MiLB resources to advance the idea of diversity and inclusion in connection with game of baseball.”
Last year, Minor League Baseball (MiLB) held its first annual Think Tank project, a new program under the umbrella of the Minor League Baseball Diversity Initiative, in Vero Beach, Florida. This year’s Moving Diversity Forward session will continue to bring many topics within the diversity and inclusion space to the table for discussion amongst peers in the baseball industry. The program will feature a panel of executives sharing their experience and best practices with establishing different programs.
The purpose of the event is to engage in dialogue geared toward advancing diversity and inclusion in the game of baseball. The attendees will be placed into an environment where open discussion was encouraged in an effort to analyze the game and business of baseball.
