Three Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) student athletes have been named Box To Row All-Americans. Jean Cyriaque, Gabriel Ballinas and Austin Stephens are first team selections.
Jean Cyriaque a junior from Durham, N.C. anchored an offensive line that helped the Maroon Tiger offensive attack amass 3,032 yards of total offense including 27 touchdowns while averaging 23.8 points per game. Recently he was named to the 2018 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) All Conference First Team.
Gabriel Ballinas, kicker for Albany State, connected on 10-of-13 field goals and was 7-of-8 from 40-49 with a career long of 48 yards.
Austin Stephens, of Miles College was the 2018 SIAC Defensive Player of the Year with 119 tackles which was tops in the SIAC. He also had 14 tackles for loss one interception and four pass breakups.
Other players selected as BOXTOROW All-Americans last year as well include North Carolina A&T running back Marquel Cartwright and North Carolina Central defensive back Davanta Reynolds.
